To start using Chimey, just click the "Enable Chimey" button at the top of the window.
Chimey plays chimes on the hour, and at 15, 30, and 45 minutes past the hour. In addition it strikes the hour. Use the preference pane to turn chimes on or off at specific times, and to turn striking the hour on or off. The initial configuration plays chimes at all times, and strikes the hour only at the top of the hour.
You can preview the chimes by pressing the "play" button in each time's section of the window.
Choosing your Chimes
Chimey comes with a selection of pre-recorded chimes. Choose the one you like using the pop-up menus located in each time's section of the window.
You can also choose your own preferred sound by selecting "Custom..." at the bottom of the list. Custom sounds can be any sound file that can be played by iTunes or QuickTime Player, which includes MP3, AAC, WAV, AIFF, and many other formats.
Chimey Menu

If you're listening to music or watching a movie, you may want to temporarily turn chiming off. Chimey can optionally add an icon to your menu bar to make this quick and easy. Just click the button near the bottom of Chimey's preference pane to turn the menu item on.
Chimey's menu icon changes to indicate that chimes are off, and they can be quickly turned back on with the same menu.
